Research England Engagement Forum – February 20, 2019, Birmingham
Following our launch last year, Research England has been visiting and engaging with higher education institutions across the country. Our next Engagement Forum will be an interactive event, designed for Vice Chancellors and Pro-Vice Chancellors with responsibilities for research, innovation and knowledge exchange, to explore how universities interact with the national policy agenda.
The forum will be a chance to engage strategically with Research England to explore the national policy agenda and its implications for the changing role of universities in society. We will exchange insights and explore shared challenges about how the HE sector might respond to the policy landscape, and how Research England can play a facilitative and enabling role.
Hosted by our Executive Chair, David Sweeney, the day will cover a range of topics, including:
- How universities engage with business and deliver for the economy;
- The role of universities in responding to global challenges, as well as shaping the local and regional agendas;
- The opportunities and challenges associated with working in partnership;
- Live policy developments, including the fees and funding context for higher education.
In addition to plenary and panel discussions and Q&A sessions, there will be breakout discussions to consider the local, regional and global impact of universities.
The Engagement Forum will take place from 10:30 to 4:00 on 20th February 2019 in Birmingham. For more information about the Engagement Forum and how to register, please email the Communications Team.
