Research England welcomes findings of report published by the Financial Sustainability Strategy Group

26 February 2019

Research England Executive Chair, David Sweeney, has welcomed a report published by the Financial Sustainability Strategy Group today.

He commented:

“We welcome this report, which provides important evidence of the cost pressures faced by universities.

“It is crucial that funders, regulators and universities work together to develop the evidence base even further, so that our investment decisions are informed by a full understanding of research sustainability as well as performance.

“As the body responsible for overseeing the health and sustainability of the university research base in England, we in Research England will continue to engage fully with all stakeholders, including in the devolved nations, to build this understanding.”
