Alliance Manchester Business School
The transformational capital redevelopment will harness pioneering business and management research.
Alliance Manchester Business School (MBS) has been awarded an investment of £9.7 million from the UK Research Partnership Investment Fund (UKRPIF) towards the redevelopment of a world-class business and management research centre of excellence for the north.
Part of the University of Manchester’s £1 billion Campus Masterplan, the transformational capital redevelopment will harness pioneering business and management research, while driving economic and inclusive growth and productivity in the region.
This landmark refurbishment of the UK’s largest business school will deliver state-of-the-art facilities to the campus, including a Data Analytics Visualisation Lab and a Behavioural Economics and Strategic Management Laboratory. It will act as a catalyst for greater interdisciplinary working among colleagues and business partners, extend links with leading international partners, and facilitate enhanced research-led training for students and clients.
The redevelopment has coincided with the emergence of the government’s industrial strategy and will enable Alliance MBS to make a rapid impact in balancing the economy through regional economic development. The School will directly contribute business research innovation in areas identified in the Greater Manchester and Cheshire East Science and Innovation Audit, such as health, innovation, advanced materials, industrial biotechnology, and Big Data.
