Knowledge Exchange Framework Consultation 2019

Research England has been tasked to develop a Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) to evaluate and benchmark the contribution UK higher education institutions (HEIs) make to the exploitation of the knowledge they generate. This document details the proposed design and implementation plan for the first iteration of the KEF for English HEIs and calls for volunteers for a pilot exercise.

We invite responses to these proposals by completing the consultation survey  by midday on Thursday 14 March 2019.

Before completing the consultation survey, please read this consultation document, its annexes and associated linked documents. These documents together represent the most up-to-date information and final proposals for the design and implementation of the KEF.

Any questions regarding the KEF consultation should be directed to Sacha Ayres, Senior Policy Adviser, Knowledge Exchange - 0117 931 7385.

KEF pilot – call for expressions of interest

We are also now calling for English HEIs eligible for Research England funding to express interest in volunteering to take part in a pilot exercise to further test and refine these proposals for the remainder of the 2018/19 academic year. Those wishing to express an interest in volunteering should read the guidance and provide the information outlined at Annex F of the KEF consultation by email to the Knowledge Exchange Policy Team by midday on Friday 25 January 2019.

Any questions regarding the KEF pilot should be directed to Hamish McAlpine, Head of Knowledge Exchange Data and Evidence - 0117 931 7293.
